Uncommon Thinking

Uncommon thinking requires the ability to welcome input from others. Simply ask: what do you think about…?

Then listen. The more I see great ideas arrive, the more I see them coming due to greater input from others. Input is like gas for an idea. There is no one person with all the right ideas. Plus, ideas need to expand to what is best.

Three ways to increase uncommon thinking:

1. Host a brainstorming meeting where all attendees can provide input without criticism. Make sure you capture all ideas. Audio recording the mtg is a good idea.

2. Do research. What other successful ideas could feed your creativity.

3. Go somewhere else to think. What helps me most when I want to increase creativity and ideas is to find somewhere other than my common areas of work to think at.

Continue on leading as you serve those around you. ~Tim DeTellis

    Hi Tim,

I am a ORU graduate (class of 02′) and saw you in the ORU Alumni newsletter? I didn’t realize that you went to ORU?? My wife and I led a trip with 10 high school students two years back to the DR and worked with New Missions. We sponsor a DR boy (Edwin Jasus Marrerro Polanco!) We love what you guys are doing!
    Blessings
